Knowledge of Episcopal liturgy, the Book of Common Prayer and the Hymnal 1982 is preferred, as is a Bachelor’s degree in music with keyboard ability on both piano and organ as well as choral directing. A team player with positive interpersonal skills is essential. This is a part-time position with a small choir, mid-week rehearsal and one Sunday worship service with organ, piano and choir at 10:30 AM. Additional services during the liturgical seasons. St Clement of Rome Episcopal Church, 1501 32nd Ave S, Seattle 98144, seeks a Parish Organist for their 10:30 Sunday Mass, with choir & cantor rehearsal at 9 AM. Additional services during the liturgical year. 1926 Reuter organ in relatively poor condition. A replacement is expected to be built in 2027. Two pianos including a Kurtzmann parlor grand and a Baldwin-Hamilton studio piano. The organist must demonstrate organ and piano proficiency and have a Bachelors degree in music or equivalent experience. The organist will accompany hymns, service music, anthems, solos, preludes and postludes. The 10-12 hr/wk position reports to the Rector and collaborates with the Choir Director.
